The All-Russian Electrotechnical Institute has successfully completed high-voltage tests of an innovative product jointly developed by UETM and JSC Profotek-the VGT-UETM®-500 switch with a digital optoelectronic current transformer (TTEO)installed on it.
TTEO is a complete device that includes an electron-optical unit (EOB) and fiber-optic sensitive bus elements connected to it, executed at the inputs of a switch with an isolated descent of a fiber-optic cable.
VGT-UETM®-500 with TTEO is actually a "digital switch" that logically fits into the technology of a digital substation.
In addition, this combined product has a unique advantage-due to the fact that it is based on mass-produced equipment, it is possible to additionally equip the VGT-UETM®-500 switches that were previously put into operation with modernization kits, including optical transformers themselves, elements for connecting them and all related electronic components, as soon as possible. Thus, in the near future, it will be possible not only to create new digital substations, but also to "digitize" the old ones with minimal costs.
The first serial sample of VGT-UETM®-500 with a digital optical transformer is being prepared for delivery for pilot operation. Neither domestic nor foreign manufacturers have analogues with similar qualities.
