UETM revives the release of RNTA

UETM resumed production of switching devices with vacuum arrester chambers. The last time the workshop produced RNTA and RNOA in the late 90s, then they were replaced by imported on-load tap-changers for a long time.

The site switching devices was resumed in March this year. Design engineers and assemblers had to develop a new technology and organize production from scratch. Three months after the start of the site, four switching devices were already shipped to the customer.

In their parameters, they correspond to the best foreign samples, and even surpass in some, in particular, in mechanical and electrical resources. They equipped transformers delivered to Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk, Volgograd, Kamensk-Ural and other domestic aluminum plants, as well as aluminum plants in Turkey, Egypt, Tajikistan, North Korea and others. To date, more than 1000 devices of this type are in operation.

To fulfill the most important national economic task of providing highly efficient power equipment for electrolysis and electric furnace plants of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy and chemical industries at the Uralelectrotyazhmash plant together with VEI named after V.I. Lenin (Moscow) were developed and mastered a fundamentally new switching device RNTA-35 / 1000VU1 with arc extinction in a vacuum.
As a result of careful research at the stands of the plant and the institute, as well as field tests at the facilities, the design and production technology of the devices were worked out.
The introduction of switching devices with vacuum arrester chambers (VDK) has made it possible to sharply increase the level of converter transformers produced by the plant, in particular the TDNP series, and to certify them in the highest quality category, as well as present them as an integral part of the complex of works to which the State Prize has been awarded.
On the basis of RNTA-35 / 1000VU1, three-phase and single-phase devices with VDK for currents of 400, 1250 and 2000 A and a voltage of 10, 35 and 60 kV, which were mass-produced from 1968 to 2001, were developed.
