SF6 Gas Column Circuit Breakers ВГТ-УЭТМ®-330

The circuit breaker is designed for switching electrical circuits under normal and emergency modes, as well as operating in automatic recloser cycles in three-phase AC 50 Hz networks with a rated voltage of 330 kV.

  • The circuit breakers are made in climatic versions of U and HL *, placement category 1 GOST 15150-69 and GOST 15543.1-89. They are intended for operation in open and closed switchgears in areas with a temperate and cold climate in the open air:

- The upper working value of the temperature of the surrounding air switch is plus 40o C;

- The lower operating temperature of the ambient air switch is:

а)  For version U1 (rated breaking current 31.5 kA or 40 kA) - minus 45 ° С when the circuit breaker is filled with SF6 gas;

б) For U1 version (rated breaking current 50 kA) - minus 50 ° С when filling the circuit breaker with gas mixture (SF6 gas and tetrafluoromethane CF4);

в)  For HL1 * version  (rated breaking current 31.5 kA or 40 kA) - minus 52 ° С when filling the circuit breaker with gas mixture (SF6 gas and tetrafluoromethane CF4).

  • The circuit breakers consist of three mechanically unrelated core-type poles, each of which is controlled by its own motor-spring drive type PPV-UETM ®.
  • High factory readiness, simple and quick installation and commissioning..
  • Natural leakage rate - no more than 0.5% per year.
  • Maintaining the electrical strength of the insulation of the circuit breaker when the voltage is equal to 1.15 of the highest phase voltage in the event of loss of excess gas pressure in the circuit breaker.
  • Disconnection of capacitive currents without repeated breakdowns, low overvoltage.
  • Low noise when triggered - meets high environmental requirements.
  • Possibility of supplying a switching resource metering device or a mechanical resource or a synchronous switch control device with a switching resource metering function.
  • Possibility of supplying distribution cabinet.

2. Cycles and Operations of Circuit Breakers:

 Breaking (О);

3. Permissible breaking operations number for each pole without review and maintenance of arc chutes (commutation stability lifespan) at short-circuit currents and load currents:

At the current 100% of the rated breaking current: 15 operations

At the current 60 % of the rated breaking current: 26 operations

At the operating currents equal to 3150A: 5000 operations «Making-random pause-breaking».

At the operating currents equal to 4000A: 1700 operations «Making-random pause-breaking»

Permissible number of making operations for short-circuit currents should be not more than 50% of the permissible breaking operations; permissible making operations at load currents is equal to permissible breaking operations.

 4. Reliability of Circuit Breakers:

 Mechanical strength before overhaul maintenance: 10000 operations «Making –random pause - breaking» with no current in the main circuit;

Lifespan before the first maintenance at least 25 years, provided that mechanical strength or communication stability life was not spent. Maintenance necessity is judged by diagnostics of the circuit breaker technical condition;

Circuit breaker lifespan before retirement at least 40 years.
